Garrett AT Pro VDI 18K Gold Rings

Below are detailed pictures, weights and Garrett AT Pro VDI of various 18K gold rings.  Right now, I just have the one example – a men’s or women’s wedding band.  This is a thick band and is very heavy.  Included in each video is what each ring sounds like under an Garrett AT Pro metal detector as well as the Garrett AT Pro VDI 18k gold reading.  As you can tell, this varies depending on the type, size and weight of the gold ring.

When using a metal detector, 18k gold sounds similar to 14k and even 10k gold, however, it is different.  The mixture of gold and other alloys results in a slightly different AT Pro VDI 18k gold number.  Just remember, don’t focus too much on the specific AT Pro VDI number, as you might miss what you are looking for.  The weight, thickness and ring size all factor into what the ultimate metal detector VDI will be.  I like to use these videos to remind myself of what the different precious metals sound like.  I also have had clients use the ring catalog to point to a ring that is similar to their lost ring.  I’ve included detailed pictures of each ring along with the weight, so that hopefully you can find an example close to the ring you are looking for.  Hope you find this resource helpful and that other Ring Finders locate lost wedding, engagement or class rings for people as a result.
